Downtown Black Hawk is just 3 miles from the ranch. Its 18 casinos offer a wide variety of dining options and the Monarch and Ameristar both have spas with lovely rooftop pools available when you visit their spa (inside safe from the weather, but with glass walls all around to see the surrounding hills).
Whitewater Rafting
Right down the road, in between the Ranch and Interstate 70, Clear Creek boasts a full range of guided trips for beginners to the most expert and has trips accommodating kids as young as 7.
Mountain Biking
The new Maryland Mountain Hidden Treasure Trailhead is just two and a half miles from the ranch! The Historic Gilpin Tramway Trail takes you above Black Hawk and then down to the beautiful Quartz Valley.
Mine Tours
The area is rich with gold and silver mining history. Quartz Point Ranch itself had mining on it! The Ranch is made up of several mining claims from the 1800’s. The Hidee Mine Tour (pictured here) is just above Central City.
Gym with 2 Swimming Pools
Bad weather? Want to get in a workout? The Gilpin County Rec Center has just a $6 day fee and has a full gym, lap pool, and a great kids’ pool. There’s also a small playground near the big ball field park just across CO46 from the rec center.
